Jeremie joined the First National team in 2022, working with Team Comeau in Halifax as an Originator. For the past two decades, Jeremie has worked in mortgage lending and housing. Seventeen of those years were spent at CMHC, where he held roles in residential mortgage underwriting, business development, research and multi-unit direct lending.
Working with borrowers directly motivates Jeremie. He likes collaborating with entrepreneurial and visionary community builders that make a difference. Being service centric and client focused are Jeremie’s core values. He goes deep with clients to understand their needs, what drives them and what’s important to them. He then combines that insight with his unique understanding of CMHC – the intricacies of policies and procedures, risk management philosophies and what it takes to get an application approved quickly. In the years he spent in multi-unit lending, he focused heavily on affordable housing, which exposed him to a broad range of clients including cooperative housing providers, not-for-profits, community housing, private sector landlords and developers. He is well versed in what it takes to put together a complex financing package that drives value for an owner.
