Elena was part of the First National team during its early years in the industry. She rejoined in 2018, bringing numerous years of industry expertise to her role as National Director of Sales. Throughout her time in the industry, Elena has developed skills including sales, business development, management and training. As a strong communicator, she prides herself on being reliable, committed and dependable in her response to broker partners. Highly motivated to succeed, Elena is always inspired to find new and creative ways to achieve objectives. She considers herself a people person and tries to maintain a cheerful disposition and outgoing manner that puts people at ease.
When she’s not adding value for brokers, Elena enjoys exploring the globe, dancing and her volunteer commitments to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel.

Ana has been a part of the First National team since 1999 and brought over 10 years of experience in the industry when she joined. She brings a deep understanding of underwriting and First National’s product portfolio to her role, often advising brokers on how to best present an application for efficient approvals.
When she’s not adding value for brokers, Ana enjoys golf, concerts, entertaining and special time with her family.

Yvonne has been working in the financial industry since 2000, with roles in both mortgages and banking. Through her diverse expertise, she has learned to appreciate everyone’s unique traits and approaches interactions with empathy. By taking the time to understand people and their experiences, she can effectively bring out the best in them. When executing, Yvonne prioritizes work, sets goals and follows through efficiently. She always elevates people’s strengths, so they can contribute confidently to the success of the team. Yvonne’s focus is always on quality. Domenic joined First National in 2021. He initially started out as a mortgage broker in Guelph with the Mortgage Centre in 2001. He then joined RBC as a mortgage specialist in 2002 and later joined the RBC Alternate Mortgage Solutions division of RBC. In August 2006, Domenic got his first experience as a Business Development Manager at Xceed Mortgage. He started at B2B Bank in May 2008, and worked there up until November 2018 as a Business Development Manager. In December 2018 he joined TD Bank and experienced firsthand how a large bank operates in the broker channel.
During his time as a Business Development Manager, Domenic was able to develop deep relationships with mortgage brokers by focusing on their needs, as well as their clients’. Domenic was also fortunate enough to be a four-time nominee or finalist for two different industry awards: Finalist, Best Lender BDM of the Year in 2013 and 2017, and Nominee for 2018 (from CMP Magazine); and 2018 BDM of the Year with the Mortgage Awards of Excellence.
Domenic lives in Guelph with his wife, Elizabeth and 2 teenage children, Gianmarco and Sofia.

April joined the First National team in April 2022, after spending a decade in the mortgage industry. Those experiences help her recognize the challenges her broker clients face and inspire her to simplify the process of doing business as much as possible. April believes in being candid with clients to build trust. She invests in their success and genuinely wants her clients to thrive. If there are situations where First National can’t do a deal, April uses her knowledge of other lenders to recommend another viable option. Her goal is to provide the best service in any situation, so her brokers can meet the expectations of their clients.
When she’s not adding value for brokers, April creates in her pottery studio, stays fit with body pump and yoga and reads a book weekly.

Daniela had been working in financial services for nearly two decades, with close to 10 years spent focused on mortgage lending when she joined First National in her role as Account Manager in 2019. For Daniela, efficiency is critical in every aspect of her role – whether she is managing deals and interactions with brokers, responding to requests or analyzing deals to identify areas where she can help. Positive and empathetic by nature, Daniela always looks for ways to say yes rather than no and approaches her relationships and her work with compassion and caring.
When she’s not adding value for brokers, Daniela spends time with loved ones, travels, attends theatre and cheers on Toronto’s teams.

Josie joined the First National team in March 2020 after more than 25 years in sales and customer service roles at both traditional and virtual banking institutions. Highly organized, self-motivated and hard-working, Josie believes that exceptional service is about exceeding expectations while helping clients meet their goals. She recognizes that trust is built through good listening and an infectious positive energy. Her creativity informs her drive, inspiring her to always think about what’s possible and how she can help.

Krista started at First National in 2016 with four years of prior industry experience. Known for her high-energy approach to her role and interactions with clients, Krista invests time to get to know each broker and ensures that she does whatever is required to meet their needs. Resourceful and organized, she places a premium on efficiency and swift service. After leading our Internal Account Team for several years, Krista brings a wealth of knowledge to her role as an Account Manager, as well as a fresh approach to customer service.

Camille joined the First National team in May 2022. She began working in the industry in 2006, gaining experience in customer service and business development at both banks and credit unions. During that time, she also gained exposure to prime and alternative mortgage lending. Organized and resourceful, Camille stays on top of her schedule, communications, industry trends, policies and guidelines. By being relentless about credibility and active listening, Camille is always keenly aware of what brokers need when she’s developing and suggesting solutions.

David joined First National in 2020 but has been working in the mortgage industry since 1987, with 16 of those years spent servicing brokers in Atlantic Canada. In his previous roles, he assisted brokers in evaluating deal scenarios, provided training and presented suitable mortgage options for brokers’ clients. With deep knowledge of the industry both regionally and nationally, David understands that change is inevitable, and success comes from accepting it and adapting quickly and efficiently. He considers himself a “broker advocate” and is dedicated to supporting brokers in supporting their clients.
When he’s not adding value for brokers, David enjoys downtime with his family and participates in sports including golf, kayaking and swimming.

Aaron joined the First National team in 2019. He started in the industry in 2012, gaining sales and underwriting experience at various types of organizations including a big bank, an alternative lender and a brokerage. For Aaron, diligence in service includes timely, effective solutions and ongoing truthful advice. He emphasizes collaboration with both colleagues and clients.

Miranda joined the First National team in 2021, bringing seven years of industry experience to her role as Internal Account Manager. Her previous roles focused on real estate administration, deal management and customer service. Miranda’s communication style is forthright but friendly and fair. Driven by a passion for the industry, Miranda focuses on consistent learning, growth and collective success. She is meticulous in her work to ensure that every step of the deal process is attended to accurately. Natasha joined the First National team in 2018, bringing six years of industry expertise, with four of those years focused on underwriting. She developed experience in broker relationship management and mortgage application/documentation review and analysis. With broad underwriting experience gained at several organizations, Natasha knows how to structure deals efficiently according to policy and approval parameters. She also understands the importance of responsiveness – answering calls and emails, addressing inquiries and keeping lines of communication open. For Natasha, it is important to apply a solution mindset to every stage of mortgage process. She also is always open and available to help colleagues and clients with questions about new deals, existing deals and product information.

Isabel joined the First National team in 2022, bringing 15 years of experience in the financial services industry to her role as Business Development Manager. She has a vast knowledge of the broker origination space, with 10 years of credit experience (prime and alternative). She also has expertise in sales support and business development. Isabel feels strongly that her combined underwriting expertise and sales acumen allow her to address broker questions and requests with decisive decisions. Being genuine and transparent are important to her when building and nurturing relationships with brokers. Highly organized, Isabel relies on technology and her own systematic approach to sales to be as effective as possible.

Jo-Anne joined the First National team in 2022, but has been working in the industry since 1999. She has experience in all facets of lending including mortgage administration, underwriting (prime and subprime mortgages), collections and sales. Jo-Anne believes that education is one of the most important aspects of her role. When brokers understand products, their value and how they can truly help clients, they are more apt to choose First National. Undeterred when asked to work outside of her immediate responsibilities, Jo-Anne relishes any opportunity to step in and adapt as required to deliver the best results for the company. She values relationships and approaches them with empathy and transparency, so partners can always look to her as a trusted resource. When problems do arise, Jo-Anne evaluates them from varied perspectives to identify the best solution. That problem solving approach helps to shape her communication style as well, so she is always providing comprehensive information to partners.

Katarina joined First National in 2024 after three years in credit and sales roles in the non-prime (alternative) lending space. As a Business Development Manager, Katarina supports brokers with strategies to help them improve day-to-day efficiency and drive growth. Education is a critical priority. She delivers presentations and conducts workshops to orient brokers to First National’s mortgage products and how to apply them most effectively. Katarina is dedicated to her broker partners’ success and recognizes the value of adaptability in a dynamic, rapidly changing industry.
When she’s not adding value for brokers, Katarina works on perfecting her French, attends live sporting events (tennis is a fave!) and enjoys reflective time walking by the lake.
